Skating & Kangoos
Skate Club
Join us every Wednesday from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at The Lighthouse Sports and Social Hub for our fun and friendly Skate Club.
No booking needed — just turn up and enjoy great music, lights and laughter in a safe, welcoming space.
We offer free skate hire and protective wear, so everyone can join in — whether you’re a beginner or a confident skater.
Thanks to funding from Active Essex’s “Find Your Active” Small Grants Fund, sessions are completely free for everyone to enjoy.
It’s a brilliant way to stay active, build confidence, and have fun with friends and family.
Paid roller skating sessions are also available throughout the week, with seasonal time changes — follow us on Facebook or contact us directly for the latest times and details.
Outdoor Activities 🌳
As part of our outdoor activities at The Lighthouse, we offer fun, energetic sessions including Kangoo Jumps — a unique, low-impact fitness activity using special rebound boots that make exercise easier on the joints while adding a bounce of fun!
We also host ParkPlay every Saturday, bringing families and friends together for free games, movement, and laughter — a great way to get active and enjoy the outdoors with your community.
Scooter Club
Scooter Club Update 🛴
Unfortunately, our Scooter Club sessions are currently paused.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Active Essex Foundation, whose funding previously enabled us to run these sessions and provide scooters so that all children could take part.
Due to funding coming to an end and lower attendance numbers, we are unable to continue the sessions at this time. However, we hope to bring Scooter Club back in the future if funding and demand allow.
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the sessions.
If you are interested in Scooter Club returning, please let us know — your feedback helps us plan future activities.
Scootering helps improve balance, coordination and confidence, while encouraging teamwork, friendship and outdoor play. It’s a great way for young people to stay active and have fun in a safe, supportive environment.
Thanks to Active Essex, we now have a selection of spare scooters available for anyone who doesn’t have their own — so everyone can take part!
