Holiday Clubs
Our HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) Clubs at The Lighthouse Sports and Social Hub are all about giving children and families a fun, safe and active place to spend the school holidays — completely free of charge.
Funded through the Essex County Council and Active Essex HAF programme, these clubs are primarily for children who receive benefit-based Free School Meals, ensuring every child has access to healthy food, friendship, and enriching experiences.
Each session includes nutritious meals and snacks, along with a mix of exciting sports, games, creative workshops and themed activities. We also love taking families on fun trips and experiences, such as visits to the beach, museums, local parks, cinema trips, animal encounters, and even circus performances brought right into The Lighthouse!
Our HAF clubs don’t just keep children active — they build confidence, friendships, and community spirit. Families tell us it’s a highlight of their holidays, giving children something to look forward to and parents valuable peace of mind knowing their kids are safe, happy and supported.

Your Club – SEND Support 🌈

We also run “Your Club”, a dedicated session for children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) — whether diagnosed or not. It’s a smaller, quieter space designed to help children feel comfortable, supported and included while having fun and trying new activities.
With a higher staff-to-child ratio, our team can provide the extra care and attention each child may need, helping them build confidence, social skills and independence at their own pace. Families tell us that “Your Club” has been a lifeline — giving children the chance to play, make friends and be part of something special in a calm, understanding environment.
